Full-Height Turnstile Site Access Control, Anti-Tailgate, Evac
Beyond a Door. A Life-Safety System for Your Jobsite.
Target groups :
Large general contractors (e.g., Bechtel, Vinci, ACS), infrastructure construction companies (bridges, tunnels, mines, oil & gas projects), EPC project management firms, government public works departments (metro, airport, hydropower station construction)
Construction sites handle large volumes of pedestrian traffic every day. However, traditional management methods often face the following problems :
1. Difficulties in personnel counting and high safety accountability risks
Hundreds or even thousands of workers enter and exit the site daily. In the event of an accident, it is impossible to quickly count how many people are on site – who is inside and who is not. This leads to low search and rescue efficiency, as well as heavy fines and lawsuits.
2. Time fraud and attendance disputes
Workers clock in for others, clock in early and then leave, or one person clocks in for several others. This results in inaccurate payroll calculations and frequent labour disputes.
3. Delayed detection of site safety incidents
A worker may faint, get injured, or become trapped in some corner of the site without anyone knowing. By the time they are found, the optimal rescue window has already been missed.
4. Unauthorised entry, theft, and vandalism
Gaps in fences, climbing over walls, or slipping through openings allow unauthorised individuals to enter the site. They steal materials, damage equipment, and if personal injury occurs, the contractor bears the liability.
5. One card, multiple tailgaters
After one worker swipes a card, several others follow closely behind without any identity verification. Attendance control and safety management become completely ineffective.
6. Inability to quickly evacuate during emergencies
In the event of a collapse, fire, or explosion, if the turnstiles do not unlock automatically, workers blocked at the passageway can suffer even more severe casualties.
Kemaisi solution :
1. Two‑way identification + automatic working time calculation
When a worker enters, they swipe a card or use facial recognition – the system records the entry time. When they leave, they are identified again, and the exit time is recorded. The system automatically calculates the day‘s working hours (exit time – entry time), subtracting preset periods such as lunch breaks. Attendance reports can be exported directly and linked to the payroll system, eliminating manual calculation errors and buddy‑punching cheating.
2. Excessive‑stay warning + safety search and rescue
The system can be set with a maximum allowed duration per entry (e.g., 12 hours). If a worker has entered but has not swiped out after the preset time, this may indicate an accident (fainting, fall, entrapment). The system automatically triggers an alert, which is pushed to the site safety officer‘s mobile phone or computer. Early warnings help secure the golden rescue window.
3. Real‑name management and personnel tracking
Each worker must verify their identity via facial recognition, fingerprint, or RFID card to gain access. Managers can view at any time: how many people are currently on site, who they are, and when they entered. In the event of an accident, a “list of personnel on site“ can be generated quickly and provided to rescue teams.
4. Full‑height rotating turnstile – physical anti‑climb design
The full‑height design (over 2 metres) with a rotating gate structure prevents climbing over from above or crawling through from below. The gaps between the bars are narrower than a person‘s width – a single person per lane. This physically blocks unauthorised entry. The all‑steel outdoor structure is impact‑resistant and corrosion‑resistant, suitable for harsh site environments (dust, muddy water, high temperatures, heavy rain).
5. Intelligent anti‑tailgating
Infrared light grids and high‑precision sensors monitor the number of people passing in real time. One valid verification allows only one person to pass. If someone tries to follow closely behind, the turnstile sounds an alarm and locks. It can be configured to trigger an alarm for ”passage without verification“ and notify security personnel.
6. Automatic unlocking on power failure – emergency evacuation
The turnstile is equipped with a backup battery and an electromagnetic clutch mechanism. The moment power is cut, the barrier arms/wings automatically open to an unlocked state, leaving the passage completely clear. This complies with international fire safety standards (NFPA 101, EN 54), ensuring that workers can evacuate quickly in emergencies such as fires or collapses – the turnstile does not block the exit.
