The core anti tailgating system consists of an infrared light grid and high precision sensors working together to monitor the number of passing individuals in real time – one valid authentication allows only one person to pass . If anyone attempts to follow closely behind , the turnstile immediately sounds an alarm and automatically locks . The system can also be set with a “ passage without authentication ” mode , triggering an alarm and notifying security when an unauthorised person forces entry . The device is equipped with a backup battery and an electromagnetic clutch mechanism .
